Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Environmental Records Centre (CPERC)
Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Environmental Records Centre (CPERC) was established in 2004 with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund and support from other partner organisations, including local authorities national government agencies and the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Peterborough.
The main aims of the centre are to:
- Gather, collate and manage information on the wild species, wildlife habitats and protected sites of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
- Make available the information to wildlife and conservation organisations, councils and planning authorities, universities and schools for teaching and research purposes and to answer general enquiries from the public.
- Encourage people to get involved with wildlife recording, through various events and public wildlife surveys.
CPERC works to ensure that a credible evidence base of biological information about local species and habitats is available for decision makers, students or members of the public keen to know more about their local biodiversity. For more information on how to get involved please visit our website at www.cperc.org.uk or contact the centre manager on 01954 713571.
