Wildlife Travel

Wildlife Travel is a holiday company that was set up in 1988 to raise funds for nature conservation in the UK through the Wildlife Trusts. It provides holidays based on good ecotourism principles and supports local wildlife conservation in the countries visited. It runs a programme of 20 small-group holidays each year to Europe and worldwide, incorporating education about conservation issues as well as wildlife watching. Specialist local guides and holiday leaders have excellent knowledge of places visited, including their natural history, and many holidays have links to local conservation projects. All profits are donated to the Wildlife Trusts.

European holiday destinations include the Isles of Scilly, the Burren in Ireland, Coto Donana or Los Alcornocales in Spain, the Dolomites or Piedmonte in Italy, Crete, Romania, Poland, Slovakia and Iceland. Worldwide holiday destinations include Galapagos, China, Costa Rica, Namibia, and Chile and Argentina.

Of special interest to the local Wildlife Trust is a holiday to the Danube Delta to see the birds and wildlife of one of the world’s most important wetlands. Profits go to the the Great Fen Project which has begun the creation of 3000 hectares of wetland between Huntingdon and Peterborough in Cambridgeshire. For more information on this, or any other holiday, please contact Wildlife Travel on 01954 713575 or email wildlifetravel@wildlifebcnp.org.
