The Big Give Christmas Owl Challenge
A big thank you goes to all those people who supported us through the Big Give and our Owl Appeal in December. We are delighted to announce that we have raised a grand total of £27,553! This figure includes £10,673 in online donations, £4,645.50 in postal donations, £3,257 in gift aid and £8,977.50 in match funding provided by our own and the Big Give’s sponsors.
These gifts are a vital help in our work to join up precious and fragmented owl habitat to make a landscape that can support a wide variety of wildlife.
We would also like to apologise to anyone who experienced any problems with the Big Give website. Due to technical difficulties the Big Give had to take their website down on Monday 5th December (the day we asked you all to go online and donate) and although their website was up and running for the rest of the week it seems it still didn't work well for everyone. These technical problems only serve to make us even more grateful to everyone who did persevere and managed to donate; collectively you made what could have been a very disappointing week, every bit as successful as we could of hoped for. Thank you!
A big thank you must also go to several celebrities who supported our work through tweeting for us during the week, including Stephen Fry, Steve Backshall, Chris Packham & David Lindo (the Urban Birder).
