Biodiversity Action Plans (BAPs)
The term 'biodiversity' simply describes the variety of life on earth and includes common and rare plants and animals. To protect biodiversity it is vital to have reliable and comprehensive information on our wildlife. We are working to develop local record centres to do this and get involved in surveys for various species and habitats. Across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire Northamptonshire and Peterborough we have taken a leading role in developing biodiversity action plans. Local Biodiversity Action Plans have now been written for each county and we are helping to implement them, contributing to biodiversity locally, nationally and globally.
Biodiversity Action Plans have become the driving force behind the work we and other organisations carry out to protect and enhance our wildlife. If you would like to find out more about Biodiversity Action Plans in each of our three counties click on the links below.
