Grafham Education Centre

The Grafham Education Centre provides a unique educational experience at two local sites near Huntingdon: Grafham Water Nature Reserve and Brampton Wood Nature Reserve.

Grafham Water Nature Reserve covers 114 hectares and has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) for its large population of wintering water birds such as coot, great-crested grebe and tufted duck. The Wildlife Trust has been involved with the site, owned by Anglian Water, since 1968, and has fully managed the site for the benefit of wildlife and local communities since 1990. The Trust office at Grafham Water houses the Centre manager, an education officer and the reserve warden who manages the nature reserve site and oversees a team of volunteers.

Brampton Wood is owned and managed by the Wildlife Trust. It is the second largest ancient woodland in Cambridgeshire, and at over 900 years old is a fantastic site for the Trust's education programmes.
