Greenwatch
Greenwatch at Paxton Pits is a group for secondary school children aged 12-18. Greenwatch aims to enable young people to explore their surroundings, help them appreciate and understand the influences that have shaped the natural world and involve them in taking positive action for the environment.
Greenwatch is about teaching young people new skills by running a wide range of activities such as practical conservation tasks and field skills, wildlife surveying methods and wildlife identification.
This group started in September 2010 and so far the group has run sessions on shelter building, willow coppicing, a WeBS survey and dead hedging around Paxton Pits Nature Reserve.
The group meets on the last Sunday of the month from 2pm – 4pm at The Environmental Education Centre at Paxton Pits Nature Reserve.
