This is the UK’s leading environmental action club for kids aged 8 – 12 years old. In Peterborough there are three Watch clubs based in Eye, Farcet and Ferry Meadows. Meeting once a month, these clubs are a great opportunity to take part in fun activities such as bird watching, mini-beast hunting, survival skills and more! For more information on venues and meeting times, please click here for contact details.

GreenWatch

Greenwatch is the wildlife-based club for 13 to 18 year olds. Meeting once a month the group is an exciting way of finding out about local wildlife and taking action through undertaking conservation tasks, survey work and wildlife photography. In Peterborough, we are launching a Greenwatch group shortly (autumn 2010).  If you would like to come along to a meeting, please contact Fay Rumball.

Education and Community Event Assistant

There are always numerous events happening across the Peterborough district.  Education and community event assistants offer a huge support to the team, gain largely though visiting different sites, meeting likeminded people and gaining new skills.  If you are interested in getting involved please contact Rachel Price for an informal chat.

School Visits

The Wildlife Trust offers a range of education activities which can be undertaken at a number of sites across the project area. These exciting educational days are delivered by experienced education officers and trained volunteers. We can also, if your school falls within the project area, come along and do a school grounds assessment and give advice on how to manage your site for wildlife.

To arrange a visit or discuss a Really Wild Day Out, please get in touch with Rachel Price, the Community Wildlife Officer.

Wildlife Trust Ecology Groups

This is an interesting opportunity of getting involved in wildlife in a practical way. Wildlife Trust Ecology Groups usually consist of teams of volunteers covering clusters of nature reserves. Ecology groups aim to carry out practical management and monitoring of wildlife throughout the year. For Wildlife Trust Ecology groups in your area please click here.

Wildlife advice

  • Gardeners can use our free leaflet to turn gardens into wildlife havens for local species.
  • Communities can contact the project team for advice on local green spaces and community wildlife projects.
  • County wildlife site and other landowners can get advice on managing land for wildlife
