How to get involved
The Ramsey Heights Nature Reserve is open to the public at all times. The Trust asks that dogs are kept on a lead and that visitors keep to the paths for the protection of wildlife and for their own safety.

Community and family events at the Great Fen Throughout the year a series of wildlife and heritage events from guided walks, family fun days, local heritage events are held at Ramsey Heights and the Great Fen. Further details of specific events can be found on our events database.
The Great Fen Wildlife Watch Group for children aged 7to 11 years get together monthly and give children the opportunity to discover the fascinating wildlife that lives in their environment.
The Great Fen Greenwatch Group held every school holiday is for young people aged 13 to 18 years and gives them the opportunity to do tasks outside using tools, shelterbuilding and survival and getting involved in film and animation projects as well as lots of other activities.
Wildlife Training Workshops give people the opportunity to learn more about different aspects of local wildlife to enjoy and understand the countryside better.
Wildlife Trust Ecology Groups are teams of volunteers covering clusters of nature reserves with similar habitats. Their main activity is fieldwork throughout the year, which requires natural history skills such as species identification, to monitor species and habitats and the way they are managed.
Volunteering at the Great Fen. Would you like to meet new people, learn new skills and help a nationally important project for people? There are lots of opportunities available including conservation tasks, office based opportunities and assisting in the Great Fen Team in delivering events and education programmes.
Volunteers do not need to be experts as training will be given. Get in touch with the Great Fen Team for details.
