Woodland linkage community education service
School visits
We offer child-centred learning experiences, based on the National Curriculum, which enable children to develop an emotional connection with three woodland reserves in Cambridgeshire. Education staff help to plan visits and offer flexible and creative learning experiences.
Engage your pupils and connect them with their local woodland with our 'Wonderful Woodlands' programmes:
Woodland art
A chance for students to celebrate the beauty of ancient woodlands. Woodland art is a two-part programme: a morning of acitivities in the wood with Wildlife Trust staff is followed by a creative art session at school working with a professional artist. Activities include making sun prints, exploring textures, and learning about other well-known artists who use the natural world as inspiration for their work.
Woodland trail
An interactive trail through a local woodland habitat: Students navigate their way through the woods to discover and learn about seed dispersal and collection; tree identification and planting; mini-beast hunting; and measuring light intensity, temperature and soil moisture.
