Adopt a species

The Wildlife Trust is inviting you to adopt one of our counties’ precious native species most in need of our help, helping us to make a difference to our local wildlife habitats and wild places. Why not give an adoption as an unusual gift to family, friends or loved ones? There are six species you can adopt:

DormouseDormouse by Colin Varndell

Barbastelle bat Barbastelle bat by Bob Cornes

Water vole

Adoptees will receive

  • A factsheet about the species
  • A photo of the species
  • Adoption certificate
  • A fun pop-up species to cut out and put together
  • Colouring sheets (if the adoption is for a child)

How to do it

Simply download our special adoption leaflet (top-right hand box), fill it in and post or fax it back to us.

The species ‘up for adoption’ have been identified as priorities under local Biodiversity Action Plans. The Trust protects and enhances the habitats required for these species to survive through conservation work on its nature reserves and by education and advice to landowners and the public. The money raised by your adoption will go towards the costs of carrying out this work, directly contributing to the survival of these species so that populations can continue to grow.
