Hepburn Watch group activity

Volunteering with Watch

There are more than 60 highly dedicated adult volunteers who play a vital part in Wildlife Watch, helping to organise and lead Watch and Greenwatch meetings to educate and enthuse children about wildlife and raising awareness about the environment.

The success of Wildlife Watch and Greenwatch Groups depends on adult volunteers registering as Leaders, who enjoy inspiring and enthusing children about conservation and wildlife, and who can donate some time to help run groups. No expert knowledge or vast natural history skills are needed. At least two fully registered Watch Leaders are at every Watch meeting. Registered Watch Leaders receive:

  • Watchword and Wildlife Extra
  • Link, an invaluable booklet of ideas and information
  • A Watch Leaders welcome pack, including ‘The Essential Guide to Being a Wildlife Watch Leader’ and activity books.
  • The local children’s newsletter, three times a year
  • Information about Wildlife Training Workshops.

All leaders also receive full support from the Wildlife Watch Officer who can be contacted on 01604 405285 or watch@wildlifebcnp.org
