TV fame for local Cambridgeshire woodland

BBC 'A River of Flowers' features Trust reserve

On Friday 29 August BBC Gardeners’ World featured The Wildlife Trust’s very own Hayley Wood Nature Reserve in Cambridgeshire.

In ‘A River of Flowers' presenter Sarah Raven returns to the wood which she used to visit as a girl with her father, renowned amateur botanist, John Raven. In the programme Sarah enrols the help of her neighbours to create 'A River of Flowers', linking up sites big and small in her neighbourhood to create a continuous link of wild flora to provide the nectar sources to benefit the wildlife food chain.

The programme mirrors the work of The Wildlife Trusts, who are pioneering the approach of joining up of wildlife areas across the country as part of their Living Landscapes work. You can get advice and help on how you can play a part in your own garden or neighbourhood at www.wildlifetrusts.org/gardening.

You can watch this inspiring programme again until Friday 5 September on the BBC i-player by clicking here.
