Spread Christmas goodwill to threatened local wildlife

The Wildlife Trust is inviting everyone to be more environmentally conscious this Christmas by sending ‘e-cards’ to family and friends that  help to protect our threatened local wildlife at the same time!

The Wildlife Trust will receive £1 from every £1.99 greeting sent digitally using its Christmas card partner charitygreetings.com.

“There are lots of different card designs to send and you will have the warm glow from knowing that you are saving paper and postage, and helping to protect our precious local wildlife this Christmas” said Wildlife Trust fundraiser Heather Noone.

Just visit www.charitygreetings.com/wildlifebcnp to select the local Wildlife Trust as your charity to support this Christmas.

The Wildlife Trust has other unusual gift ideas this Christmas including its ‘Adopt a species’ scheme. By giving a gift adoption of one of our precious local species such as a barn owl, dormouse or otter, you will be helping the Trust to protect and improve their local wildlife habitats and so ensure their survival.

Alternatively you could give a whole year of discovery and enjoyment of wildlife close to home to a loved one by giving them a gift of Wildlife Trust membership. One year’s membership for an individual costs from just £27, while a membership for the whole family starts at just £42. Click here to see what gift membership includes.

This winter lets not forget our garden visitors too....birds can find natural food sources run low but with our help it can make a big difference.

We are working in partnership with Vine House Farm birds foods.

By buying your bird seed, feeders and nest boxes all wildlife can benefit because 5% of the profits goes to the Wildlife Trust.

Visit www.vinehousefarm.co.uk to make your order and to help local wildlife, as well as providing much needed food and shelter for our feathered friends!

Did you know that you can raise money for your local Wildlife Trust as you shop?

In the run-up to Christmas if you buy presents from the website buy.at a donation will be made to the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Peterborough.

It can be up to 15% of the purchase price in some cases.

There are lots of well-known retailers taking part including Marks and Spencer, Thorntons, Waterstones, Amazon and Next.

Just visit www.buy.at/wildlifebcnp and start your festive shopping!
