Vote for Randalls Farm!

The Wildlife Trust is asking for votes to benefit one of our nature reserves and education centres.

Randalls Farm in Stewartby, Bedfordshire could win a share of £100,000 as part of the ‘Bovril Great Outdoors Revival’.

The reserve is also an education centre and has been run by the Wildlife Trust since 1994.

Popular with the local community including wildlife enthusiasts, walkers and families, it has provided its unique education programme to nearly 3, 500 people this year alone.

Essential site improvements are needed, though, to make the site fully accessible and user friendly.  The car park needs resurfacing, especially for visitors with mobility issues, and the pathways need mowing to enable easy access to areas of the reserve.  Repairs are needed to the toilets and the leaking classroom roof.  A dried out pond needs to be restored to encourage Great Crested Newts to colonise.

The Wildlife Trust wants to work with the local community to create a "showcase wildlife garden" providing a haven for wildlife and giving visitors information and ideas on how to encourage wildlife at home.  The site would also benefit from better signage to help visitors really appreciate the value of the site.

Voting for Randalls Farm could help wildlife to flourish on the reserve and help adults and children alike to access and enjoy this wonderful place.

You can vote for the project on the Bovril Great Outdoors Revival website http://www.bovril.co.uk/revival/. The closing date is 28th December.
