What’s new?

Brand new Wildlife Watch group in Farcet

Are you aged 8-12 years old and interested in wildlife? Want to try lots of exciting activities including pond dipping, bug hunting and wild crafts?

Or, are you an adult interested in helping children learn about local wildlife?

If so Wildlife Watch is for you!

Wildlife Watch is the junior branch of the Wildlife Trust and it is an exciting way for children to learn all about wildlife in their local area. They can take part in fantastic wildlife activities and discover the brilliant creatures that live on their doorstep!

Wildlife Watch aims to encourage children to adopt a caring attitude and enthusiasm towards wildlife and conservation.  The group also helps to raise awareness and understanding of the natural environment.

We are setting up a brand new Wildlife Watch club in Farcet. The group will meet once a month on Sunday afternoons. They are run by at least two fully registered Watch Leaders and are supported by the Wildlife Trust.

Adults we need your help!

In order to set up a Wildlife Watch group in Farcet we need adult volunteers who are willing to register as Wildlife Watch Leaders.

Adults need to be 18 years old or over, complete an application form and CRB form and provide the names of two referees. Leaders receive full training from the Wildlife Trust, as well as a Wildlife Watch pack, which provides guidance on planning and running Watch meetings.

If you would like to help with Wildlife Watch, or if you would like to attend Watch meetings, please contact Amanda Swinford (tel: 07736 921471 or email: amanda.swinford@wildlifebcnp.org).  You can also become a member of the Wildlife Trust and receive fantastic mailings and information about wildlife activities in your local area.
