Poster competition for Northamptonshire schools in conjunction with CPRE!
The Wildlife Trust is encouraging all primary schools in Northamptonshire to take part in a poster competition to raise awareness of the effects of littering on wildlife and our natural environment.
The competition links with a CPRE (Campaign to Protect Rural England) Northants initiative, supported by the Wildlife Trust, that aspires to raise awareness of the damaging effects of littering and to encourage schools to run their own litter campaigns. Every school has received a letter detailing how to get involved, along with a CD packed full of useful resources.
Up for grabs are individual prizes for the children who enter; as well as £500 for the winning school. The closing date for entries is 1st April 2012 and the winners will be invited to a prize-giving event at Lings Local Nature Reserve during May.
Louise Tuffin, Community Involvement Officer for the Wildlife Trust, says ‘We are really pleased to be involved with such a positive project, which aims to get children to really stop and think about the impacts that littering can have on our environment and wildlife. Hopefully lots of schools will choose to enter the poster competition and I look forward to seeing all of the posters once they’re in!’
